The Spark
From the time he was a child attending Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney On Ice shows at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, Michael Burke wasn’t watching the performers — he was watching the lights. While others remembered the clowns or skaters, he remembered how beams of color moved across the arena. That early fascination with light became a lifelong passion.
Early Experimentation
For birthdays and Christmases, Michael asked for fog machines and DJ-style lighting instead of toys. He learned by doing — even timing lights to music by flicking them on and off through a surge protector. By his teens, he had sold the basics, invested in moving fixtures, and taught himself to program intelligent lighting. It wasn’t just a hobby anymore; it was becoming his craft.
Professional Experience
In 2007, Michael entered the professional lighting world as a follow spot operator at the Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A year later, he joined Feld Entertainment’s Disney On Ice as an assistant electrician, touring internationally for four years. He later worked with the Nuclear Cowboyz and Women of Faith tours before joining Walt Disney World in 2014.
From 2014 through 2025, Michael worked at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, ultimately serving as the Park Entertainment Lighting Lead overseeing entertainment lighting across the entire park. Over the course of his career, he has led crews, programmed complex lighting systems, and contributed to world-class live entertainment experiences seen by millions of guests from around the world.
The Birth of Prismara Events
While building a career in live entertainment and themed production, Michael continued developing his passion for event lighting and design. Each year, he programmed elaborate Christmas tree light shows synchronized to Disney music at his home, while continually expanding his collection of professional lighting equipment and refining his design approach.
What began as MB Lighting Solutions eventually evolved into Prismara Events — a company built around creativity, professionalism, and the art of event illumination. Drawing from nearly two decades of experience in touring productions, themed entertainment, and live event lighting, Michael now focuses on bringing that same production value, creativity, and attention to detail to weddings, corporate events, and celebrations throughout Central Florida.
